Around the world in 80 seconds

For this posting, I will just describe the various ads. These are for YOU to enjoy and to comment on!

NEW YORK CITY, New York, USA:
STEAM coming out of a manhole on a cold day in New York City.
Folgers placed a sticker over the manhole to make it look like a
hot cup of coffee!

MUMBAI, India: Life size stickers of people were placed on a glass sliding door.
When the door opens, an individual is greeted by this ad: "People move away
when you have body odor."

TOKYO, Japan: The brand "Indivi" places stickers of their
clothing range for people to see how they look like in their apparel.

BERLIN, Germany: Stickers depicting people working in an
ATM and a vending machine. Done by a recruiting agency.

MALAYSIA: Stickers with burn-effects are placed on walls
of parking lots. Done by M-Tech Plasma HID Lights, claiming
that their lights are 300% brighter than regular headlamps.

ZURICH, Switzerland: All about perception! Mini places an ad
at the entrance/exit of a subway station!

  1. I REALLY LOVE THESE CREATIVE ADS! I've always been interested in advertising and how some companies just produce the best and most interesting ads of all time. Love the examples you've given here, the advertising companies must really have the most observant the imaginative staff to come up with such well-thought through ads that fully utilizes everyday life!

I wish shops in Singapore would follow Tokyo's apparel store idea, that would make shopping for clothes, a breeze! :D

  2. OMG! SO COOL!!!

The body odour add was super FUNNY! I really liked the Japan brand 'indivi' one too! I think its really indigenous and attractive. These advertisements really stretched my mind, blowing me off with its creativity. Really reveals how small my mind-set/perspective is. X-X

    hahahha

    i'm still speechless!!!!
i love the body odor one.. its so efective because for one, its an add that people withh remember. people will tell friends about. the deodorant gets word of mouth publicity free of charge!

the cup of coffee is definitely eye catching.. it makes the viewer want to look twice and really smile.. i didn't really understand what it was advertising though...

the CAR one in zurich was brilliant!!!! its funny, again very memorable and actually makes a point in an interesting way

the stickers in malaysia are funny, but not THAT effective since what if the person whos car was parked there was not using the companies lights? nevertheless, you are bound to remember the companies name

  4. hello!!
the advertisements are really interesting and attractive! they are sure to catch hold of the those that pass by the ads. the use of nonverbal communication in terms of pictures are captivating. this surely is a good strategy to promote products because it gets people involved in the way the product would be used, for example the one on body odour and the skirt sticker on the wall. it would be even more effective than televesion ads as they get to experience things in real life.
    great post =)

  6. I would like to have such shopping mall in Singapore where they paste clothes onto the mirror so that I wouldn't need to keep taking out my own clothes to try. HAHAHA!

Advertisement is indeed very important, it is the first impression on the brand, whether they able to capture their customer attention. I would say a effective ad will be those that I still remember till today like VISA! =P
